Recruitment process in japan

Hello, nice to meet you!

I am mobile developer with 5 years of experience and I am considering applying for a job in Japan later this year. With that being said, I was wondering if you guys could help me with some questions about the recruiting process for development positions in Japan?

1 - Does the hiring process differs a lot from the “west” (my apologies in advance for generalizing)?

2 - Some companies require leetcode others home assignments tests, from your experiences, which one do you believe is more common in Japan?

The companies that are recruiting international developers and don’t require Japanese abilities (e.g. those listed on TokyoDev) have recruitment processes that are similar to what you’re used to.

I don’t have any data on what kind of coding tests are more prevalent in Japan, though I don’t think it matters so much either. There’s enough variation that it will come down to the individual places you apply.
