I am offered 4 months of a contract by a recruiter company and will be converted to full-time after 4 months. Does anyone have the same experience going from contract to full-time? Is it good to go through this route, could you please give some suggestions?
Because it is hard to fire someone in Japan, it isn’t uncommon for a company to want to hire someone as a contractor first, before offering them regular employment.
It does increase your risk personally. Even if you do a great job during the first 4 months, they may not offer you a regular position due to factors beyond your control (e.g. they decide they need to cut costs).
